My Background

J. Hunt is a product of New York City. He was born in Harlem and raised in the Queens area. He grew up in Jamaica, Queens and spent most of his adult life in Forest Hills Queens. In a life filled with as many ups as there were downs, John learned to mix with and enjoy all levels of income, all classes of people, and all races, Each group with their own special customs and taste.

It was no wonder that he could understand the dreams of the poor and the expectations of the wealthy as well as the soul of the woman scorned and the spirit of the man trying to live with low self-esteem. In J. Hunt’s mind, the road that leads from loneliness to happiness is just a walk across a welcome street and the trip from being worshiped to self-doubt takes only the loss of simple respect.

My Writing Roots

J. Hunt was educated in Queens, New York and received his first degree in social science while working and raising a family. He received a second degree in the arts during that same period. J. Hunt has a degree in psychology which he obtained from Norfolk State University. J. Hunt spent 4 years in the Air Force and six years in the Army reserve.

It is during those years that J. Hunt became more deeply involved and interested in the relationships and social habits that tend to set man apart from other animals as well as his own peers. It is the sheer irrational behavior of man that makes him such a unique character to study. It is his will to adapt that has made him the King of his environment and the most destructive creature ever to walk the earth. Still, he is also the most creative creature to walk the earth.

My Style

Is to tell stories that have truth, feeling, and meaning regarding the characters and how they see the events that surround them. When you stand back it is easy to see that there are many sides to the same story. It is my hope that by telling these stories you too will  see this as well.
